I mean really, I want to be a good friend. So, when my friends hubby calls and asks me if I will help him out for her birthday - I say yes. It gets really good from here!!!! He wants to surprise her with a massage, manicure and dinner. He wants to know if I want to go along for the ride ( all expenses paid)!!!!!!!! He will stay home and watch their four children... while we go on a girls day. HMMMMMM! let me think. AH YEA YAH!!!
That's my kind of friends!!!! Thanks T.
We had a great time and K. was very surprised.
Another question we get is whether we will leave Six in Deaf school, which is a residential school.
That means- she sleeps there Monday through Thursday and is home on week-ends. And the answer is....
We don't know.
There is so much to learn about her, what her needs are, what will work best for her and overall. For now, I know the Deaf school has been great for her. She has had no one to communicate with at the foster home. So, she is in her element at the school.
Yes, it is very hard to imagine your child living somewhere else during the week, only seeing her on the week-ends. If it is best for her, we will do it though. We would prefer for her to be able to come and go daily, but not sure if that will be too hard on her and us.
I would love to have the opportunity to home school her for at least a year. That would allow us time to bond as a family, for her feel like she is a part of the family and time for us to focus on things she may need help on.
So, we will see.
on paperwork!!!!! We are still waiting for that precious little girl. Paperwork seems to be the hold up. There is a certain paper that needs to go from point A to B back to A then C and D and finally to E which is where little Six is waiting for us.
One of the big questions we get is whether she even knows about us yet. I don't have a clue!!! However, she is about to. They had me send some pictures of the family so they could show them to her. That has me excited. It makes it seem like there is at least some progress. I really feel like we will finally meet her/bring her home in the next week or two.
There is a sweet lady in our church that has already made preparations for a new Sunday school to start the first Sunday we have Six. There is another Deaf girl there and they will teach them together instead of mainstreaming them into the regular classes. This is so exciting, because it will be great for Six and the other girl. God is so good.
More tomorrow. I promise. I am actually writing the post in a few minutes!!!
I have some big news!! We will have a new daughter soon! WOW!! I am sure you are wondering why I have kept this little secret - but, of course some things are not for all of blogville to know.
We have been going trough this process since Octoberish - and it seems like years. We started out planning to do foster care, but God had a different plan. While we were waiting for our approval for the fostering , I got nosy and started looking at the children in our state that were available for adoption. There are sooooo many y'all. Anyway, When I got to this one little girl - I felt a tug on my heart and knew it was God.
So, the process for her was started and I can testify that the state is SLOW!! OHMYWORD!! We hope to have her with us within a month.
A little about her...
She is precious. She will be 11 years old in April. She is Deaf. She is African American. She lives at Deaf school during the week and goes to her foster home 7 hours away every week-end. We live much closer. Her name is ... hmmm, let's call her Six, since that's where she is in the line up. ;) NO, people that is not her real name!! She does have a pretty name and a pretty sign name.
That is all for now - more tomorrow.

Okay, so my friend "Sunshine" tagged me over on Facebook and plan to make this a "twofer" deal!!!
Here goes!!
25 Random things (really? 25? eeesh!)

2. I broke my arm over Christmas and just got the cast off - what a relief.
3. I have a Goldendoodle - his name is Milo.
4. I also have a Maltese, but my hubby claims her as "HIS"!
5. Little man is not so little anymore - he will soon be four years old.
6. I'm not a very good sleeper.
7. When it's cold I like to stay inside and cuddle up in a quilt that my great grandmother made.
8. I especially like to cuddle with Little man - enjoying it while I can!!
9. I planned on going darker with my hair, only to find out I have soooo much gray under all this blonde!
10. I apparently irritate the doololly out of my grown kids!! ;) Just wait kiddos- your turn is a'comin!!
11. We are about to foster to adopt a precious little girl.
I2. I'll tell you about that in a day or two - keep ya coming back!!
13. I know so many people without jobs.
14. I have no idea why this is double spacing all of a sudden.
15. I am waay behind on my laundry.
16. I am about to start a little series called Rubyisms. You will LOVE it.
17. I am almost out of things to tell you.
18. My mother in law is a very wise woman. She keeps things simple by doing the exact same thing for everyone. You may not love it, but you can't say she's not fair.
19. My hubby is a pastor. He has a jail ministry and loves it.
20. 25 things huh??
21. Little man just turned off the lights - he is a "diver" and needs to go to sleep. Go figure.

24. My son lets little man play with his iphone (games) -I think he's crazy to let him touch it!!
25. I made it.
How long has it been this time?? You think I am cheating on you? Well, just because I decided to get Facebook doesn't mean I'm two timing you. Really, I'm not. Trust me, I'm not really there either!! I merely fell to the temptation to see what it was all about - to sow some wild oats - try the grass on the other side. You know the drill. You probably have a Facebook too. Letting the whole world get all up your business!! For Shame!!!
Originally, long, long ago when I started blogging and then became hopelessly addicted - staying up all hours of the night to get my fix - it was all more, well dare I say - secretive!! Smart bloggers knew to tell only their first name or if they were the valedictorian of the group - they would fake out their entire existence. Making up clever little names for their family members, perhaps using cute adjectives to describe the little offspring.
It was beautiful.
Now it seems, that somebody pulled the plug on all the make believe and decided to make it "real". ugh!! My day to day is "real"enough for me. Let me have my the world of make- believe. I don't care to unload all of my emotions (which , could really be a wild ride for all of you) on unsuspecting strangers, 'er I mean "friends"
It's not that I'm not all into being my "authentic " self and all that hubbub- I am female after all however, I am fairly selective with whom I spill the beans!!!! Can I get a witness???!!! It just seems better for me in the long run if I wash my laundry a little before I hang it out to dry!! I mean, really, who wants needs to know when or why I might be angry upset with my family - wonderful folks that they are!! It's all their fault anyway - given my perfection!!!;)
Does anyone really care that much about the day to day trivial things in another persons life?? Like, this new thing with "knowing what your doing right now". AREYOUSERIOUS??? People really want to know this??? There's a way to tell people where you are, where you are going, when you are coming back, who you'll see there, etc. I mean I truly love y'all, really I do - however, TOMUCHINFORMATION!!!
Okay, so now you know how I feel about all this - ARGGGGGHHHHH!!! I'm doing it too!!!
so, what are you doing later?????
Kids say the darnedest thing...
The other day we - DH,little man and myself (is that incorrect English, oh well) were riding along after normal rare night of eating out we went over a hill. Naturally DH sped up for that little hill. Anyway, as we went down the other side little man giggles and said "that tickled my p**p**. DH and I almost threw up our meals we were laughing so hard. Little man got upset and asked why we were laughing - well, what do you say? We take that hill whenever we can - just to hear his little innocence shine through!!!!
Speaking of those body parts, our puppy , Milo will be UN-manned tomorrow. He has no idea. Poor baby!! Except that he has become Mr. hump-a-lot. G-R-O-S-S. Sure hope this helps or else he will get a bad reputation, as he is Mr. hump-a-lot with not only inanimate objects and human legs - but, GULP - my daughters MALE dog too!!! EWWWWWWW!!!!
Aren't y'all glad I'm back????? LOL!!!
for the umpteenth time????? I started this blog when blogging was new-ish. Now, is there anyone without a blog?? If so, I highly suggest you get one or you risk being tarred and feathered for being soooooo lame.
Anyway, life got in the way of my regular posting and visiting- so I took a blogcation that lasted practically forever. So much has happened. I don't even know where most of my regular readers are. Are you still blogging? Have you changed it all up?? Will I ever feel the love again??? I promise to make changes to mu sidebar for all of you that have asked me to chage your blog address etc. SOON!
I am thinking that I should just list some of the life changes that have happened since my regular posting and then backtrack occasionally to fill in the details. As if my life details are important to you!!!!
No particular order - if I had to do a timeline this would NEVER happen in my lifetime.
1. I now have SIX grandchildren!!! OHMYWORD!!! Three boys and Three girls.
2. My mother became deathly ill, was in ICU for 3 weeks, then hospital, then rehab, now nursing home. This has been going on since March!!!
3. We sold our house in ten days.Had no place to live yet, rented a house for 9 months and finally just moved into our new house.
4. The house is much better for us, not as big- just right for our family since the four grown kids are ... well, ya know - grown.
5. We are in the process of becoming foster parents and expect to have a baby/child within the next three weeks!!
6. My hubby is now a Pastor!!!!
7. That makes me a Pastors WIFE!! Who'd a thunk it??
8. I closed my business
9. We got a new puppy- a goldendoodle. His name is MILO!!
That's all I can think of right now, but I know there is more. My brain is mush - I just don't know why!!! ;)
Okay, now that we have that out of the way - my daughter tagged me - so here it is.
List six things that most people don't know about you, then tag six other people.
1. I have been married for 30 years!! Yep, I know- You thought I WAS thirty. sorry to disappoint.
2. I used to be uber thin. Yeah, alot has changed!!
3. My hair is not REALLY blond.
4. I just bought a pair of those neck chain thingies that hold your glasses - I can't bring myself to wear them.
5. I always say that if I ever get thin again, I want a small tattoo -no need to worry honey, it's not likely to happen!
6. I am not my mother's favorite child!! Hard to believe- I know!! ;)
Okay, consider yourself tagged if you haven't done this yet!!
... or at least I think it is. So much has happened since we last "spoke". My goodness, I don't even know where to start, so I just won't. I'll just let it all filter in a little at the time. It would simply overwhelm you and me both to recap right here and now!!
It is good to be here though. If you've been checking in from time to time - thanks. If you are new and don't know me from Adam, well, I'm Faith.
We are about to have a grand baby any day now -maybe even today!! This will be our SIXTH!! Hello!! That just explained part of where I've been!! This will be a girl. We are very excited - this will even out the boy/girl playing field - for the moment anyway! LOL!!
We are moving into a new house this weekend!! Let me know if you want to help!!!
Our son is three years old and thinks he's batman. Understand he has never and will never (okay maybe someday) see the movie, yet he knows ALLLL about batman- how is that?? He is also the silliest child ever and the epitome of the class clown. We are in Big trouble. He is very smart though and that is awesome. He knows the Pledge of allegiance and says it EVERY time we see a flag. He has NO inside voice. He growls at strangers. He wants his mommy to cuddle with him at least three to four times a day. He knows and understands ASL very well - we use to correct him in public!! He loves all things musical and will start Suzuki music soon. He knows his nephews and nieces are nephews and nieces, but calls them his brothers and sisters. He is extremely excited about the new baby "sister" coming out of his sisters tummy!!! Get That??? ;) He knows he is brown and some people are not. Don't know if he has realized that we are not. He was potty trained in ONE day!! For real y'all!!! He has POTTY POWER!!! It was nothing short of a miracle!!
Well, more on him later, I could go on and on.
I missed hearing from all of you. Looking forward to catching up.
I decided to be brave and have a Valentine party for all the little ones!!! Yep, I was taking a big risk. I spent a small fortune on their treats and surprises. It was worth it though. We had fun!! Here are a few hi lites!!
So, they did have fun. YIIIPPPPEEE! I will tell you though - all the fun can go h*ll in a handbasket in about one blink of an eye!!! We kept two of the grands for the parents to go to dinner and our other daughter and her two stayed for dinner -PIZZA yeehaw! Anyway, all was going well - until my little man decides to hurl a wooden block (huge - wooden - hurled at high speed) and hit M-5yr in the head. OUCH!!! From there it all went downhill. My daughter that had stayed here with her hubby and kiddos became terribly ill from a migraine. She starts hurling -not at anyone, just in the toilet and her little G-Baby starts s-q-u-a-l-l-i-n-g!! He thinks she's dying and wanted to go in the bathroom and help! NOT a good idea! Yes, it was a great time!!!!
One injured child. One child being disciplined. One child fell asleep WHILE eating his pizza - I barely caught him before he fell out of the chair. One grown (pregnant) daughter hurling up her pizza. One grand screaming because his mommy is hurling up her pizza.
Time for the party to END!!! Happy Valentines to me - I lived through it!!
There is a clear (meaning large, huge GINORMOUS) difference between a mommy and a daddy who are both sick. I hear you laughing - I really do!! Yes, I did know this before now. Yes, I should have expected it and yes, I wanted to throttle the daddy anyway!!!!
As I lay quietly dying - okay so I was moaning, writhing and was otherwise annoying. Anyway, like I was saying, there I was d-y-i-n-g and in comes my prince charming, my rescuer, my helper extraordinaire. He sits down beside my limp, pitiful self AND INSTANTLY FALLS ASLEEP!!! Thanks for your help honey!!
Since I really did actually say that last sentence out loud, I was further shocked when he SNAPPED his reply at me. Hellllooo, you're snapping at a dying woman here. Are you really okay with that? Can you live with yourself after I've gone on to Glory??
Apparently so!!!!
Skip forward a few hours when prince charming is shivering from chills and coughing up a lung.
AWWWWWW. Feel sick honey?
PS. I really do feel bad that he got sick too. All I really wanted was for him to take little man away from the video's he'd been watching non-stop since I got sick. You know, play a game, get on the floor, roll around - anything but watch movies!! I was getting sicker thinking about all the brain cells my child was losing to movies. Little did I know that hubby was beginning to get sick too.
Communication. There's a word for ya!!!
Anyway, he's sick, I'm sick. He sleeps it off, I take care of little man. No really, you must get your rest honey!!
Now, he's well, I'm still puny. I wonder why????
...actually we need a mommy. We need the temperature taking, blanket covering, cold drink with straw, medicine giving, vicks vaporub on your chest rubbing mommy!!!
We have the FLU. We need our MOMMIES!! Obviously, you never get to old to need your mommy when you're sick (or any 'ol time really). Unfortunately, our mommies live four hours from here and don't even know that we are sick.
We will be toughing it out - just like we have for the last almost thirty years. ohwell!
Yes, I know - you think I'm wishy washy because one day here then I'm gone. Well, I plan to work on that. I think I needed a long break. Now that I've had that, I'm ready to settle in and get going again.
My plan of action is a little different this time though. I miss journaling about my family and my thoughts- so that's what I will do. It will probably bore most to tears, which will mean you won't be back. That's fine. I can live with that. I hope you'll pop in from time to time though and let me hear from you. That would be nice. I also hope to catch up on my favorite blogs soon. I miss reading your stories, learning from you, praying with you etc.
So, I'm off to get reacquainted with some and meet others for the first time. I'll be right back. I promise!
This is a quick post about a conversation with my little grand - G-Baby. We were on our way to church Wed. night and he and little man were chatting it up in the back when G-Baby said "Mia, when I grow up, I'm gonna be somebody else." I was tickled and asked if if he would be sure to let me know who he was. He said NO. I told him that if he didn't tell me who he was, I wouldn't know where to find him. He said, " well, I won't tell you, because I'm gonna be a Power Ranger." OHHHHHHH!!!! Secret identities and such. I told him that Mia's have their ways and I'd find him no matter what. He, of course, assured me that would never happen. I guess I'd better hone my Wonder Woman skills!!! ;)
I can't believe it's been so long since I posted. I've been out of the blogging loop for a while now. It really began to take over my life, so I had to step back for a little while. I have missed it though. I've missed reading everyone else's too.
Gosh, so much has happened. We have a new grand daughter!!!! Baby MV. She is beautiful and her daddy (son #1 the lawyer) is ONE PROUD PAPA!! We also have another grand on the way!! That will be number six for anyone who cares. We will find out whether this is a boy or girl in Feb. I think.
We are a very prolific bunch!!! They are so sweet and beautiful. They are wearing us out though!! WHEW!!!!
Last year, we had two births and three surgeries - and all is well. We praise God for that. We are very thankful.
Well, more later !!
My Little man is two and a half now - can you believe it? I still try to baby him and have every intention of doing so for as long as I can. Lately though, I do see "boy" emerging from his cute little self. When I see it, I try to pretend I didn't. I just want him to be my baby. However, the "boy" in him is jumping out all over the place.
He seems to love the word "b**ty" and commences to shaking his when he says or hears the word - then falls on the floor laughing. My little grands do the same thing. Obviously the male fascination with the "b**ty starts early and never lets up.
He's also started using the word "nuffin". It goes like this - "little man", what are you doing? Nuffin, comes his reply. Which OBVIOUSLY means "somfin". The little sinner!! LOL!
Good thing he's so cute!!
Here I am on my knees ( asking forgiveness). Time has slipped by in a blur. Here is the update.
My daughter had the surgery, the lump (ginormous) was removed and was BENIGN !!!! She recovered well although she was (is) upset about the huge scar it left. Unfortunately, it seems that another lump has come in it's place. She will be seeing the specialist in about two weeks. Thanks for all of your prayers. I can't tell you what it means to me that you would intercede on our behalf. Please forgive me for taking so long to give you an update.
A lot has been going on around here since I last posted. We decided to sell our house and we did just that - in 10 days!!! Yep, we were unprepared for that. We had to find a temporary dwelling place until we decide what we want to do. It looks like we may build though. We couldn't find anything (on short notice) that fit all our needs, wants etc. So here we are in the process of moving - down the road .
Oh well! It was a major thing to sell in only 10 days though. We see that as a blessing. We do believe this is God's will for us. We are just unsure of the next step - we know that He knows though.
Enough of the boring stuff. Tomorrow - back to the good stuff!! I look forward to catching up with everyone. See ya in your comments!!!
My daughter, the one that just gave birth, is having a lumpectomy today at 2:30. This happened alll quite quickly and we are all very concerned ( understatement). She is only 22 years old. This lump has grown by half a centimeter since last Friday. We saw the breast specialist thinking she would have a biopsy, but, they said it had to come out NOW. This was yesterday - we are overwhelmed.
Please, if you feel led , pray for her today.
Push present!!! Have you ever??? OHMYWORD!
It appears that these days(as apposed to the Olden days), a woman gets a whopper of a gift when she has a baby! It's called a "push present". Seriously, a present for doing something you are practically dying to do - PUSH IT OUT!!!!! These are no mere thingamajigs - these are DIAMONDS and PEARLS!!! All I can say is," I MISSED THE EVERLOVIN' gravy train!!!!
My dear hubby was nice enough to give me a dozen red roses and I was thrilled to get 'em. Some chicks just got a ride home from the hospital from a hubby who was nice enough to take the day off!! Diamonds? Pearls? BWAHAHHAHAHAH!!!!
My daughter had her second baby on May 6th and she got this beauty!

And this BEFORE she actually pushed!!!!! Was it incentive to get the baby popped on out or just anticipation of a job well done. If he had known that she would push a slight THREE times, would he have thought twice about the chunk of change he dropped on this sight blinder??
I have a client who says she thinks mom's should get an upgrade on their engagement ring for every baby she has. A whole carat for each bundle of joy!! Yeah baby!!! That would be FIVE carats for me (adoption would have to count too). Let's add a half carat for grandchildren and I'd need a extra person to carry around my jewels!!!!!
NAAAAA! I think I'm okay with things they way they are. If we went too far, I'd have to spend too much time on shining it up to the perfect shine. I have way too many other things to do.
So, thanks for all those flowers honey!!!
