How important do I feel? WAAAAAY!! Since I got sitemeter, I can track where my traffic is coming from. It is way cool. This is what I have found out. If somebody  types in anything about bi-racial children -- they get me. It's a little odd to me that this would occur, but whatever. I do have a heart for African American and bi-racial children that need to be placed in a loving,christian home through adoption. So, I'm sure that I am not exactly what these people are really looking for,but maybe,just maybe God can use this for these children. Ya Think?!!! God has a plan and gettin' all googley could be a small part of it.  Who'd a thunk it? Yee-Haw!

Treasure Tuesday!

My treasure for today is one of the last physical gifts that I received from my Granny, before she passed away. My Granny was my heart. I'll blog on it someday soon. I was so broken hearted when she passed away. One day I was all alone in my house (don't ask me how that happened),taking a hot bath and basically crying my heart out. I was listening to music and the song - To make you feel my love - from the movie Hope floats came on. I cried harder. I finally pulled my soggy body out of the tub and wandered around my house aimlessly for a minute. By this time I had pushed the replay button on my cd system and the song was playing all through the house. Yeah, I know, but I needed a good cry. Anyway, I came to my Keeping room and something made me turn to around. What I saw was simply amazing. The sun was shining through a window and was lighting up this beautiful gift. Only this one thing. Nothing else. It was on a bookshelf, with other things, but the narrow stream of God's Light lit ONLY my gift from my Granny. It was the most vibrant,narrow stream of light I've ever seen.It made my gift "GLOW". It was beautiful. It really was. If you listen to the song, it talks about "what I wouldn't do to prove my love to you". I really felt The Holy Spirit and my Granny at that moment. I know this may seem odd to some. Just so you know, I checked the light many, many times after that, at approx. the same time. IT.NEVER.HAPPENED.AGAIN. This is my gift.

What is it? It is an Ostrich egg. Odd, yes. She had no way of knowing how much it would come to mean to me. Like my Mayo piggy bank ( see here) , it is special to me. I  have it in my china cabinet, behind glass doors. No One is allowed to touch it (it is very fragile). I clean the shelves in there myself (housekeeper knows better), so that if anything happens to it, I can't be upset with anyone else.

I DO WANT TO SAY THAT THESE TREASURES ARE VERY SPECIAL TO ME--- WHILE I'M HERE. HOWEVER, MY REAL TREASURES ARE STORED UP IN HEAVEN.

HALLELUJAH.

So, how's this parenting thing goin'?

Wait! Go back. Repeat the title again, only this time, use your always asking annoying questions voice. You don't have one? Good! This guy DOES. He always asks the most stupid annoying things? How is this parenting thing goin'? Well, We've done it four,count them four times before. I know, I know. He means- how is it goin' given the fact that we are not in our teens and twenties anymore. First off, thanks for the reminder,because I really need one, what with the crows feet and all. Let me just say, we wanted to parents again, thank you very much. We love it. We love him. It is not that much different from the first go'round.I have no idea how to spell that, sorry. We bathe him,feed him,clothe him,change him,kiss him,squeeze him,hug him --oops, I'm getting carried away - the same as we did with the other children. Some things have changed. We are a little wiser now. We enjoy every little moment, because we now realize all those people were not kidding when they said "they will grow up too fast". We move at a slower pace, not because we are older, but because we don't want to miss anything. We stay at home alot, because little man likes his schedule. I can live with that. When the other children were babies, I was under the impression that the mall would collapse if I didn't show up, and I didn't want to be responsible for that. Mr. annoying, we love our life. We love being parents, to our older children and our little man. This is God's plan for our lives and we are thankful for it.

A side note about Mr. annoying -- We asked how his boys are (they are grown,mid20 and 20). His answer --- "well they're gone. We hardly ever see them". I guess that explains his  inability to understand  us. Our adult children are part of our everyday life, it would break my heart to say "we hardly ever see them".

Faith Needs

I've seen this on several sites and I finally decided to try it. I figured, with a name like Faith,it could be interesting. If you want to try it, here's how. go to google and type in "Your Name needs" in parenthesis and see what comes up.

Faith needs freedom and counseling.Oh, this is good. My hubby would sure agree with the counseling part. Freedom? I have Jesus. I'm free,free indeed.

Faith Needs Virtue. Well, okay.

Faith needs to be hard. Yes, I will admit I'm a bit soft around the middle, but hard. that's downright un-feminine.

Faith needs our help now. I always need help. Do you do floors and windows?

  Faith needs imagination.  Believe me - I have imagination. That's how I get through the day.

Faith Needs Foresight. Now that would be nice. I'll take that and a nice glass of sweet tea please.

Faith Needs Feet . Well, I sure do have two of those. What I need is guidance for those two feet. I get it from my Saviour.

Faith needs another route.What the hard road's been taken?

FAITH NEEDS JUDAISM. HMMMM. That is interesting. I'm a born again christian though and that won't ever change. Ever heard of The Book of Life?! 

Faith needs something outside itself. Amen.

Faith needs its own critique. I have plenty of that, thank you. Four grown children, need I say more. 

Faith needs to be specific. A-bout????? 

Faith needs a life of prayer. Don't we all? I'm working on mine - always.

A musical heart !

Well, here we are, back from the Cardiologist. It went well. Read- they let me hold him to do the tests! Smart people. He does have a mild pulmonary stenosis, which is explained below(if you care to know). The Doc is really not that concerned. He says, he may outgrow it in 2 years. If not, He will just have to take antibiotics before going to the dentist or having surgery etc. Not a big deal, in the scheme of things. We are blessed to have this little man as our son . Thanks again for your prayers. Again, they were answered. *They said that he has a musical heart. That's the way it sounds when they listen to it ( the murmur). See me smile! A heart for Jesus is indeed musical!

What is pulmonary stenosis? When a heart is functioning normally, blood is pumped through its four chambers with the help of a series of heart valves. These valves open and close in a way that allows blood to flow only one way. The pulmonary valve allows oxygen-poor (blue) blood to flow from the lower right chamber of the heart, called the right ventricle, to a large artery called the pulmonary artery. The pulmonary artery sends the oxygen-poor blood into the lungs where it is enriched with oxygen. The pulmonary valve has three leaflets that function like a one-way door, allowing blood to flow forward into the pulmonary artery, but not backward into the right ventricle. Pulmonary stenosis, a congenital (present at birth) heart defect, occurs when the pulmonary valve is unable to open completely. With pulmonary stenosis, problems with the pulmonary valve make it harder for the leaflets to open and permit blood to flow forward from the right ventricle to the lungs. In children, these problems can include:     * a valve that only has one or two leaflets instead of three     * a valve that has leaflets that are partially fused together     * a valve that has thick leaflets that do not open all the way Pulmonary stenosis may be present in varying degrees, classified according to how much obstruction to blood flow is present. A child with severe pulmonary stenosis could be quite ill, with major symptoms noted early in life. A child with mild pulmonary stenosis may have few or no symptoms, or perhaps none until later in adulthood. A moderate or severe degree of obstruction can become worse with time. Pulmonary stenosis is a component of half of all complex congenital heart defects. Pulmonary stenosis is the second most common congenital heart defect, composing 5 to 10 percent of all cases. Congenital pulmonary stenosis occurs due to improper development of the aortic valve in the first eight weeks of fetal growth. It can be caused by a number of factors, though most of the time this heart defect occurs sporadically (by chance), with no clear reason evident for its development. Some congenital heart defects may have a genetic link, either occurring due to a defect in a gene, a chromosome abnormality or environmental exposure, causing heart problems to occur more often in certain families. Why is pulmonary stenosis a concern? Mild pulmonary stenosis may not cause any symptoms. Problems can occur when pulmonary stenosis is moderate to severe, including the following:     * The right ventricle has to work harder to move blood through the tight pulmonary valve. Eventually, the right ventricle is no longer able to handle the extra workload, and it fails to pump forward efficiently. Pressure builds up in the right atrium, and then in the veins bringing blood back to the right side of the heart. Fluid retention and swelling may occur.     * There is a higher than average chance of developing an infection in the lining of the heart known as bacterial endocarditis.

Hungry?

Our Little man is not eating table food very well yet. Yeah, I know, he's almost 13 months. He just prefers baby food. Something about the texture, I think. Given that I believe there is a texture issue -- how do we explain this little phenomena? Yes, that's his CRIB that is chowing down on. It is a beautiful black crib. It now looks like the home of a chipmunk. We give him,teething tablets,let him suck on cold washcloths,give him tylenol and freezer thingies to chew on. You name it . Still- he gnaws on the crib. How adorable! Paint and wood - what a well balanced diet. At least he gets his fiber! ;D

Prayers wrere answered!

Thank you all so much for your prayers. We had a hard time keeping him awake on the way to the appointment. Yes, that was me doing a headstand in the black SUV on the Interstate. Yes, that was me singing to the top of my lungs - with the windows down -- on the Interstate. We put the windows down in an effort to BLOW his eyelids open!! We made it. When the tech called us in the room, she said let him just sit right here. It was the edge of gurney type thing. I looked at her like she was blue. Obviously, she does not read my blog -therefore does not have knowledge of this. HE.FLIPPED.OUT. I told her, I thought we should just try it with him on my lap. She was hesitant, but saw how strong he is and relented. It went much better from there. I sang to him while she put on the electrodes. It calmed him tremendously. He is obviously tone deaf. I felt bad for the tech (Karen),having to endure the racket - but, my baby was happy calm. I sang really great songs. Do Lord - Jesus Loves me -Jesus loves the little children - He's got the whole world in His hands -Amazing Grace - Swing Low Sweet Chariot - And -- Zacchaeus was a wee little man. How's that for a repertoire? Then, Guess what happened? He went to sleep. Praise the Lord. He slept for the rest of the test (which was okay for him to do). The tech wouldn't give us any clues. We get the results in a WEEK!  Here's a pic of my little man as we were finishing up.
We go to the cardiologist tomorrow morning. I just found out this morning that he will be having an Echocardiogram and an EKG. If those are the same thing - then it's something different. 2 test anyway. She said it would take about 3 hrs. I wasn't expecting all of this. But, Hey, He does get to sleep tonight.

Thank you all for the prayers. We truly felt them all. That little room was full of the Holy spirit.Okay. I'm crying now.
