Patience. Well, You probably have to have it if you have been waiting to see if I would post this week!! I am always late it seems. LIFE comes in and plays havoc with my good intentions.

Love never fails; Joy cometh; Peace rules; Patience waits. (study guide)

I am patiently waiting! If you are part of the study, you know how I am waiting. If you are not, I'm not trying to keep secrets, it's just not time to share with all of the world - yet. Trust me though, I.am.waiting. It could be that in His wisdom, I needed to learn some patience, so here I am . LEARNING!! At first, I was very impatient,very worried etc. Through much prayer on my part and especially on the part of others, I have become peaceful and patient. Each day brings the same concerns and thoughts - even more, actually - yet, I'm not fretting, not worrying. I'm just waiting patiently until My Lord sees fit for me to know the answer.

Okay!! I will admit, I do hope it is sooner rather than later. I didn't say I had perfected the patience thing!! Get real!! I have several scenarios in my head (regarding the outcome) and none of them totally freak me out like I would think they would have. God is working on me and in me.

I am thankful.  I am patient.

I am truly overwhelmed as I write -"I am thankful". My eyes are overflowing as I type. The prayers that have been lifted for me have helped bring me this peace and this patience. My God does have a plan for me and I am so thankful that it includes you all - my blog family!!!

Behind the times

Yes, I am behind the times. At least in some respects. I just started scrapbooking -this week end!!! Yes, i am aware that everyone else in the free world has been doing it for years. What's worse is that I am doing it the old fashioned way. Yes, scissors,paper,glue,3-dimensional embellishments etc. I realize that digital scrapbooking is the "in" thing and I'll work towards that end. Right now, I am having a good time pretending that I am in grammar school again -- cutting, pasting,painting etc. Since I am digital at my Studio, I am on the computer so much already (not to mention blogging) that I think I willl enjoy the hands on of the old way.

However, When I read all of the digi stuff on FlipFlops blog and I see her digi pages, it makes me want to get started with that too. So, maybe I can mix the two. Does anybody have a thought on that? How do the pages look if mixed together?

I've only done one page so far and it left a lot to be desired.It didn't turn out quite like I'd hoped. It's okay, just not what I'd envisioned. Oh well, try, try again.

Now that the older children are grow, we have an abundance of extra rooms, so I turned one into a playroom/workroom so that I have a safe place for Little Man  and I can work  play while he plays. I am in some sort of frenzy ,almost like Nesting - I think I know why ( no, not pregnant),but anyway, it has put me in a cleaning, organizing,s sorta mood. I am in the frame of mind of just getting things in their proper place. This scrapbooking is just an example of the things I'm doing. My hubby just nods and smiles - just nods and smiles!!!!! ;D

Thursday Thirteen!

Thirteen Things about Son #2- pre-med student

1. He is the sweetest child of the grown children. They all say so too!

2. He was the smallest of all the children at birth, but is now the biggest. Broad shoulders, huge muscles.

3. We could never get him to do his work in school, but his teachers would all say, "We just looove ______ , he is so sweet and so cute". We could never get much support from them, because they were all in love with him.

4. Now, he plans to be a Doctor and makes all A's. Go figure!

5. Since he was very small, he would always say that he would take care of us when we get old!

6. He has a smile that will melt your heart. We always hear it from anybody that meets him.

7. I backed out of the garage one day and hit his car. I called him from my cell phone and told him. He just said " no big deal Mom".

8. When Little man gets sick and we have to go to the children's hospital, he calls ahead (he never seems to be working on those days) and we get special treatment. SHHHHHHH!

9. He is always happy and always smiling. Very laid back. Gets that from his Dad.

10. He sent me FTD flowers to my studio not too long ago. They were beautiful and I was shocked. He had no business spending that kind of money either!!!

11. He was diagnosed with arthritis as a pre-teen and he never complains. The only way I ever knew he was hurting was when I saw him going up the stairs, one at a time, holding onto the rail. That is still true to this day! Stubborn, I tell you. Gets that from his dad too. ;D

12. He loves his nephews and Little Man and always takes time to play with them and gives them stuff all the time. G-baby calls him "fireman" (he is also a fireman and EMT).

13. Yesterday ( May 3rd) was his 23rd birthday. Happy Birthday Son!

Works for me Wednesday!!

   

      

So here is the thing .... This little meme has taught me that I am obviously a wretched wife and Mother or at the very least a horrible idea -comer-up-er-with-er!! Get that? Basically, I am as dry as a bone on this. That fact makes me feel awful. I have nothing??? I've been married almost 28 years,been a mother for 27 - surely, in that time - I.HAD.AN.IDEA!!!!

Well, if I did, I forgot it. So here is my feeble attempt to woo you all with my awesomeness!!!

If you read my blog much at all, you know by now that we have the CDC on our heels with all of the Rotavirus and the general pukes and poops that we have going on here since Christmas!!!!! YES!  That is since 2005!!! Anyway, we have had some major stink going on in this house with all that 'um , stuff - so here is what worked for me .

  Little Man has a bathroom attached directly to his bedroom, so to help with the skanky stanky in his room , I poured liquid Lysol (the blue kind _that's important) in his sink with a little water and left it there. It made his whole room smell like it was actually germ free. I wiped down his mattress and bed with it every time he hurled or- ya know. So, I changed it out often, but it really did help with the smell.

I know, I'm probably grasping at straws here - you ALL probably knew this already. I am eating up y'all's ideas with a spoon!!! Bring'em on!

BTW - if someone wants to tell me how to get the banner from over at Shannon's, I would love to use it too. I'd hang it proudly on my site, as if I actually have a tip or something!!! ;D

Treasure Tuesday!

My Treasure for this week is this little cedar box.

I don't really have a long story that goes with this one. Okay, I heard your relief!!

This little box, which has the wonderful aroma of cedar belonged to my Mother. She gave it to me while I was still a little girl. It was a gift to her while she was in high school. It took on some sort of fascination for me when I was young. My Mother always had this little handmade doll sitting on top of it. I don't really know which held the most interest for me the doll or the box.

Probably both. I remember handling the doll with care(she was made from string - I wish I had a picture of her) and just enjoying the uniqueness of her. She even had a little piece of paper? that had her name on it - Juanita. That's the dolls name- not my Mother's name. I can barely remember what day it is now, but I can remember that doll's name and exactly how it was written (very pretty- like calligraphy). Anyway, the box and the doll had a spell on me and my Mother finally decided to just give me the box. I think she still has the doll though. When I was a teenager, I kept my *love notes* and *secret thoughts* inside of this little box. So, it has a special spot on my bookshelves. When I see it , I think of my Mother,"Juanita" and secret notes about love everlasting and unrequited love- from a young teenage girl that loved the smell of cedar!

Yeah, okay it was a long story. Sorry!

There are 15  members of my family in various stages of this nastiness. Yes! FIFTEEN!! I am clorox -ing everything in sight. We had a B'day get together for my second son- pre-med student, that's how how we spread the fun! Anyway, here goes the meme!!

I write - all the time. It's kinda like the singing thing - not good at it, but that doesn't stop me!

I should - learn to type better. I always type dyslexic ex. hte = the, dna = and. etc. I do alot of backtracking.

I start - alot of projects that I don't finish. I hate that about me!
