A little late update for you. Our adoption of Little miss Six was finalized in Dec. I know, I said it was late!
We were a bit concerned about Six because the social workers would be there. She always became apprehensive when we had a visit from them. For her, they represent people that could change your life in a heartbeat. She preferred to ignore their existence. So we knew seeing them in the court environment with so many new people around could potentially freak her out. She was her usual self - she ignored them.
She even ignored the interpreter and the Judge!! The interpreter was not impressed (she did not know Six), the Judge just laughed. Little Six just wanted to be done! Thankfully, it is a quick process. Everyone asked if we were going to celebrate. Nope!! We did the only thing that would make Little Miss Six relax and understand that her world was not changing. We took her to school!! She was thrilled. For her that represented a normal day. Normal is good!!
